Before beginning a Parent Taught Driving Course, the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR), requires that the student’s “Designated Parent-Instructor” first complete the Parent-Taught Driver Education Instructor Designation Services Request and purchase the Parent Taught Driver Education (PTDE) Program Guide. TDLR charges a separate fee, for the PTDE Program Guide, that is not included in our course fee.

Yes, our course includes the “Official” Permit test at NO additional cost!
You’ll be able to take your Official Permit test, directly through our website, the same day you enroll in our course; as soon as you successfully complete Module 1 of 12.

Yes, our course includes two downloadable Certificates of Completion, at no additional cost.
- One (1) for the Learner License (Permit); and
- One (1) for the Driver License
There are two (2) Phases and two (2) Certificates of Completion required by the Texas DPS for the teen driver education licensing process, our course includes both certificate in a convenient downloadable file.
PHASE I: The first Certificate of Completion (Learner License-Permit) application is made available after the student completes Classroom Module 1 of 12 and passes the Official Permit Test (included).
PHASE II: To qualify for the final Certificate of Completion (LICENSE), required by DPS for the Driving Test, the student must have a valid Texas Learner License, and must complete all state-mandated classroom & behind-the-wheel instruction requirements.
We allow one (1) year, from the date of purchase, to complete the state-mandated Classroom and Behind-the-Wheel instruction requirements (Modules 1-12 and the Behind-the-Wheel Instruction Hours).
Per the state, a Teen who meets the following requirements is eligible to take our Parent Taught Driver Education Course:
- Must be ages 14 – 17.
- Must be a current Texas Resident.
- Must be currently enrolled in school (Public, Private or Homeschool):
- If graduated, the student may present a High School Diploma or its equivalent
- A Parent or Step-parent
- A “Legal” Guardian
- A Foster parent
- A Grandparent, Step-Grandparent; or
- A person that has been designated by a parent, legal guardian or a court judge.

Yes, a friend or relative may qualify to teach this course. We recommend checking the Instructor Requirements: Click HERE
Yes, the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR), will charge a separate fee (currently $20) for the PTDE Program Guide.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will charge a separate fee for the Learner License application and a separate fee for the Driver License application.
If you decide to take your Driving Test through an Approved 3rd Party Tester, they will charge a separate fee for their service that is NOT associated with or included in our course fee.

- You MUST have a valid Texas Learner License (Permit).
- You MUST have a DE964 “Transfer” Certificate verifying completion of the 32 Hours of Classroom Instruction.

- Complete the 14 Hour Behind-the-Wheel Instruction log
