Before beginning any Parent-Taught driving course, you MUST first complete the Parent-Taught Driver Education Instructor Designation Services Request and purchase the Parent Taught Driver Education (PTDE) Program Guide from the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR). TDLR will charge a separate fee for the PTDE Program Guide that is not included in our course fee.

Here’s the scoop…

PHASE I – Learner License (Permit)

  1. Complete Module 1 of 12 (6 Classroom Hours)
  2. Take Your Official Permit Test Directly through our Website
  3. Pass Your Official DPS Permit Test (included FREE)
  4. Download & Print your DE964 “Learner License” Certificate 
  5. Schedule your Application Appointment with DPS
  6. Apply for your Learner License (Permit) at DPS 
  7. Begin your in-car instruction with your designated parent-instructor

Our Course is the FASTEST Allowed by Texas Law 🚙💨

As soon as you complete the course requirements.👍

Classroom Modules 1-12, can be completed in approximately one (1) week. 

And the 14 & 30 Hour Driving Logs can be completed in 3-4 weeks, after you receive your Learner License “Permit” from DPS.

The entire course (Modules 1-12 and 44 Driving Hours) can be completed in approximately 4-6 weeks

*The Student must have their learner license (permit) before beginning any behind-the-wheel (in-car) instruction.

PHASE II Details: This Way to Your License

 

  1. Complete Modules 1 thru 12 (can be completed in one (1) week)
  2. Complete the 14 & 30- Hour Driving Logs (44 Hours – 2 hours per day max)
  3. Request your DE964 (License) Certificate from your Dashboard
  4. Download, Save and Print your DE964 (License) Certificate 
  5. Must be 16 years of age & have your “permit” for 6 months
  6. Complete the Impact Texas Teen Driver (ITTD) Video
  7. Schedule your Driving Test Appointment with DPS (link in HELP tab)
  8. Buckle Up & Proceed with Caution! 🚙💨

We allow one (1) year, from your receipt order date, to complete the all of course requirements.

Classroom Instruction: Modules 1-12 can be completed in approximately one (1) week.

Behind-the-Wheel (In-Car) Instruction: Once you obtain your Learner License (Permit) from DPS, the 14 & 30 driving hour logs can be completed in approximately 4 weeks.

The entire course (12 Classroom Modules & 44 Driving Hour) can be completed in approximately 6 weeks.

All course requirements (Classroom Modules 1-12 & the 14 Hour Behind-the-Wheel Instruction Log) must be completed, and the DE964 certificate must requested, downloaded and saved on your device, on or before your account expiration date (one year from your date of enrollment).

No, there are no additional, hidden or recurring fees for our parent taught driving course. 

However, the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR), will charge a separate fee for the PTDE Program Guide. 

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will charge a separate fee for the Learner License “Permit” and a separate fee for the Provisional License.

Easy, follow the steps below to renew your course access and continue where you left off without losing course progress.

Account access expires one (1) year from your original order date. If your account shows a “Blocked” or “Not Activated,” status, your account is expired.

If you would like to complete your course without having to start from the beginning, you will need to re-enroll and pay the registration fee to continue where you left off without losing course progress.

 We will send you an email notification once your original account is unlocked.

If your student completed all of the state-mandated parent taught driver education course requirements (Modules 1-12 and the 14 & 30 Hour Driving Logs), but your account expired before you completed the process or you just need another copy of your DE964 Certificate of Completion, we are happy to help.

Please note that there is a $25 service fee to process your request.

Request a Copy of Your DE964 Certificate of Completion:

  • Pay the $25 Service Fee
  • Once you complete the Request Form and submit the $25 Service Fee, you will receive an email-receipt with instructions & information necessary for us to process your DE964 certificate request.
  • You MUST submit the original account Username & Student’s Full Legal Name.
  • Please Note: Without the student’s full legal name and the original account username, we cannot access your original account to process your DE964 Certificate request.
  • Please Note: There are NO Refunds for inadvertent or accidental “$25 Service Fee,” registrations. Make sure that your student used our service, before paying the $25 fee.

Once you complete the Service Fee registration, you will receive an email-receipt with instructions.

You MUST submit your request-email, in order for us to be able to process your form.

Our Help Desk is Available Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. CST.

DE964 Certificate Requests are processed Monday – Friday 10-4pm CST.

DE964 Certificate Requests received on Fridays after 6pm, and on Weekends & Holidays will be processed the next business day.

  • Please Note: Without the student’s full name and the original account username, we cannot process your transfer request.
  • Please Note: There are NO Refunds for inadvertent or accidental “$25 Service Fee,” registrations. Make sure that your student used our service, before paying the $25 service fee.
  • Please Note: If your student has NOT completed the course requirements, and you would like to re-enroll to have them complete the remaining course requirements, please refer to “Technical Support” question #1.

If you choose to transfer to a commercial driving school, please note that there is a $25 service to process your “Transfer” request.

Per State of Texas Regulations:

  • A student may transfer 6 or 32Hours of Classroom Instruction.

 

  • If your student has completed less than 6 Classroom hours, NO transfer documents are necessary.

If your student has completed all 32 Classroom Hours of Instruction (Modules 1-12) of our course (PT #121), and you would like to request a “Transfer” to a Commercial Driving School, please see below for instructions.

Request a Transfer to a Commercial Driving School:

  • Pay the $25 Service Fee,
  • Once you complete the Service Fee Registration, you will receive an email-receipt with instructions & information necessary for us to process your Transfer DE964 certificate.
  • We will need the original account Username & Student’s Full Name.
  • We will need the Name & Address of the school to which you are transferring.
  • Please Note: Without the student’s full name and the original account username, we cannot access your original account to process your transfer request.
  • Please Note: There are NO Refunds for inadvertent or accidental “$25 Service Fee,” registrations. Make sure that your student used our service, before paying the $25 fee.

 

Once you complete the Service Fee registration, you will receive an email-receipt with instructions.

Transfers are processed Monday – Friday 12-4pm CST.

The Transfer DE964 Certificate will be emailed to you 24-48 hours after we receive your email with the name and address of the school to which you’re transferring.

Transfer Requests received on Fridays after 6pm CST, and on Weekends and Holidays will be reviewed the next business day.

No worries, the username is the registered student’s first name, middle initial (if any) and last name (lowercase and one word).

For example, John Q Doe = johnqdoe (username).

We do not have access to passwords, but you can reset your password by clicking here.
